Will we get email notifications when an account is running low on credits?

By default, accounts are not set up to receive notifications. The account Administrator has the ability to turn on notifications to receive notice when an anniversary date is approaching or when the balance is running low. Administrators have the ability choose the frequency and balance amount for these notifications.

Will we ever be able to upload documents (scripts, clearance support, etc.) to Ad-ID?

At this time, there is no upload feature.  Ad-ID does not plan to store actual ads on our system.

Will I be able to view invoices?

Invoices are made available online within the Account.  Users with access to the account can access pdf copies of invoices through the Invoice Log.

Will I be able to email the code I just opened?

Yes, an email feature is available to email code information directly from the Ad-ID website.

Why is the corporate hierarchy used?

The hierarchy was implemented to allow for more consistent data for reporting and searching purposes.  The hierarchy also allows us to give the option of locked or unlocked prefixes.

When we add an HD to an existing SD, will they show together in the Ad-ID code list or be separated by dates?

The Ad-ID Code table defaults to sort with the most recently created code at the top so if you do not create them at the same time, they may not be listed together in the Ad-ID code list. However, you can sort the table by any of the columns to sort it to your preference.

When creating multiple codes, can you create a mixture of different media types, such as some radio and some TV?

No, the multi-code creation feature does not allow you to do multiple media types.  If you need to create multiple TV codes and multiple Radio codes, you would need to do those separately.

What kind of agreements need to be signed in order to use the Ad-ID system?

Ad-ID does not require signed agreements.  To utilize the system, all users must agree to the online user agreement when they register.  This agreement can be viewed here (

What is the difference between a 501(c)(3) non-profit and other non-profits?

A 501(c)(3) organization is a tax exempt organization and is typically a religious, educational, charitable or literary organization. Companies that qualify as 501(c)(3) can provide Ad-ID with their IRS determination letter confirming their 501(c)(3) status and receive free codes.
There are other non-profit companies that fall under different IRS codes which do not qualify for the 501(c)(3) Program. All companies which are not 501(c)(3) organizations are subject to the standard Ad-ID rates.

What happens if I register my prefix and codes with Ad-ID but another company uses my prefix and/or code outside of Ad-ID?

Ad-ID provides a unique prefix and code within the Ad-ID database. Ad-ID is the recognized authority for advertising coding just like the US government is the recognized authority for the social security number.

The most common situation we have found is that a coding error is found during distribution and the person who made up the code, as opposed to registering it with Ad-ID, will have to provide a new code for their commercial.
